3. Remove Existing 1st Row of Wall Tiles: Take out the first row of wall tiles around the perimeter of the shower area.
4. Remove Old Floor Waste: Remove the old floor waste or drain to prepare for the installation of a new one.
5. Remove Old Screen: Remove any remnants of the old shower screen to create a clean surface for the renovation.
6. Replace Villaboard to Walls Where Required: Install new villaboard (a type of moisture-resistant wallboard) on the walls where needed to ensure a sturdy base for tiling.
7. Supply and Install Puddle Flange to Waste: Install a puddle flange around the new floor waste to ensure proper drainage and prevent water from seeping into the surrounding areas.
8. Lay New Screed to Floor: Apply a new layer of screed, which is a cementitious material used to create a level and sloped surface for proper water drainage in the shower.
9. Apply Bond Breakers/Bandages to Allow for Movement: Apply materials that allow for slight movement between different sections of the shower area, helping to prevent cracks due to expansion and contraction.
10. Clean and Prime Base for Waterproofing: Thoroughly clean the shower base and prime it to ensure proper adhesion of the waterproofing membrane.
