- Remove Shower Screen: Carefully uninstall and remove the existing shower screen to access the tiling area.
- Remove Existing Shower Floor Tiles: Remove the old tiles from the shower floor, ensuring that the surface is completely clean and free of debris.
- Remove Existing 1st Row of Wall Tiles: Take out the first row of wall tiles around the perimeter of the shower area.
- Remove Old Floor Waste: Remove the old floor waste or drain to prepare for the installation of a new one.
- Remove Old Screen: Remove any remnants of the old shower screen to create a clean surface for the renovation.
- Replace Villaboard to Walls Where Required: Install new villaboard (a type of moisture-resistant wallboard) on the walls where needed to ensure a sturdy base for tiling.
- Supply and Install Puddle Flange to Waste: Install a puddle flange around the new floor waste to ensure proper drainage and prevent water from seeping into the surrounding areas.
- Lay New Screed to Floor: Apply a new layer of screed, which is a cementitious material used to create a level and sloped surface for proper water drainage in the shower.
- Apply Bond Breakers/Bandages to Allow for Movement: Apply materials that allow for slight movement between different sections of the shower area, helping to prevent cracks due to expansion and contraction.
- Clean and Prime Base for Waterproofing: Thoroughly clean the shower base and prime it to ensure proper adhesion of the waterproofing membrane.
- Apply Waterproofing Membrane to Floor and Wall: Apply a waterproofing membrane to both the shower floor and the walls, adhering to Australian standards to create a watertight barrier.
- Re-tile 1st Row of Wall Tiles: Install new tiles in the first row along the walls, creating a base for the rest of the tiling.
- Supply and Reinstall New Floor Waste: Install a new floor waste or drain cover to match the updated shower area.
- Re-tile Shower Floor Tiles: Lay new tiles on the shower floor, ensuring proper alignment and drainage slope.
- Apply Water Resistant Silicone to Vertical Wall Junctions: Apply water-resistant silicone sealant to the vertical junctions between the wall tiles to prevent water penetration.
- Apply Elite Hydrapro Water Resistant Grout to Shower Floor Joints: Use a water-resistant grout to fill the joints between the shower floor tiles, preventing water from seeping through.
- Seal Wall/Floor Junctions with Elite Hydrapro Water Resistant Grout: Apply water-resistant grout to the junction between the walls and the floor to create a seamless, watertight transition.
- Seal Internal Junctions of Shower Screen with Water Resistant Silicone: Apply water-resistant silicone sealant to the internal corners and junctions of the new shower screen to prevent water leakage.
- Seal Tap Flanges: Apply sealant around the tap flanges to ensure a watertight seal where the taps come through the wall.
- Completion Timeline: The entire process is expected to take around 5 days to complete, considering the time required for the various steps involved.

- Remove Personal Items: It’s recommended to remove personal items from the work area to ensure they are not affected during the restoration process. This prevents any accidental damage or interference.
- Furniture Removal or Arrangements: If furniture needs to be moved for restoration, United Trade Links can either take care of it or coordinate with you. While they strive to avoid damage or scratches, a note is provided that, in some cases, they might not take responsibility for potential damage.
- Onsite Parking: Adequate onsite parking is important for the convenience of the restoration team. Having a designated parking spot near the work area helps ensure efficient service.
- Adult Presence: Having an adult present during the restoration process is advised. This ensures effective communication and decision-making, as well as providing access to the premises.
- Water Availability: Access to water is crucial for the restoration process. United Trade Links will need a water source for mixing solutions, cleaning, and other necessary tasks.
